Thank you for choosing world's first Grass-fed & Certified Organic Cultured Ghee! One of the traditional processes of making ghee involves culturing cream before churning it into butter and then clarifying into ghee, and we make this product by following this age-old and time-honored practice. It is not a source of live and active cultures. As always, our ghee is made from milk obtained only during the spring and fall when the cows are on the pasture eating rapidly growing fresh, green grass.

Suggested Use

It has a high smoke point (485 ºF) and it won’t burn like butter. Use it as a spread, or in place of oil or butter in your cooking . Perfect for sautes, stir-fries, sauces, and baking. Pack it up for traveling, camping, picnicking, and hiking – it’s shelf-stable and doesn’t require refrigeration.

Other Ingredients

Organic pasteurized cultured butter (made from non-homogenized whole milkform grass-fed cows).

Non GMOs, no added salt, no preservatives, no trans fats.

This product is batch-tested to contain less than 0.25% latose, less than 2.5 ppm milk proteins (casein and whey), and less than 5.0 ppm gluten.


Ghee handles heat very well, and any melting in the jar during transit is safe and fine. A layer of liquid ghee may form on top of the jar and grainy texture ghee at the bottom, causing it to have a “separated” appearance. This is perfectly normal. Simply stir before using.

Store in a cool, dry and dark place. Use a clean and dry spoon to take ghee out of the jar. Use within 3 months after opening or refrigerate until the Best By date. As with any natural product, color and texture may vary.

One of the best Ghee out there (cultured, grass-fed, low-lactose, low-casein)

This is made from fermented cream/yoghurt, which has been turned into butter and subsequently into real desi ghee (fermented clarified butter). The resulting ghee is not only extremely low in lactose (0.25%), but also very low in casein (2.5 ppm). If you have tried ghee before with bad reactions, this might work for you. The smell has a hint of butterscotch and sourness, just as it should be. The taste is clean, pleasant and ever so slightly tart, again a clear sign of proper fermentation. The source is grass-fed milk from cows from organic farming. The only way to make this better, would be to use milk from casein type A2 (more digestible to humans), although this is most likely a non-issue due to the very low level of casein. The only ghee that I've found that equals this in taste/quality is a biodynamic (Demeter certified) organic cultured ghee available within the EU. My personal highest recommendation for ghee as of 4-2017 (I've tried over a few dozen, incl. hand-made batches done by Ayurvedic practitioners).

Fantastic Ghee

I love this stuff though it's kind of expensive. Love that the plastic jar is BPA free but it's very thin and weak material. The cap often breaks during shipping or it will break when you remove the tape that was fastened before shipping. If you order it often, save your unbroken caps.
