We leave the corn germ and bran in! That's why our 100% Stone Ground Whole Grain Cornmeal is tastier and more nutritious! (Because corn germ is at such a premium for unsaturated cooking oils and margarines, most other makers of corn products remove it.)

Diets rich in whole grain foods and other plant foods low in total fat, saturated fat and cholesterol, may reduce the risk of heart disease and some cancers.

Lowfat diets rich in fiber-containing grain products, fruits, and vegetables may reduce the risk of some types of cancers, a disease associated with many factors.

Suggested Use

Cornmeal Pancakes

1 cup boiling Water

3/4 cup Bob's Red Mill 100% Stone Ground Cornmeal

1 1/4 cups Buttermilk or 1 cup sour Milk*

2 Eggs

1 cup sifted Unbleached White or Whole Wheat Pastry Flour

1 Tbsp. Baking Powder

1 tsp. Salt

1/4 tsp. Baking Soda

1/4 cup Oil

Pour water over cornmeal, stir until thick. Add milk; beat in eggs. Sift flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda. Add to cornmeal mixture. Stir in oil. Bake on hot ungreased griddle. Makes about 14 pancakes.

*To make fresh milk sour, add about one tablespoon of vinegar per cup of milk.

Other Ingredients

Whole grain corn.
