Fitness-Friendly Citrulade Smoothies

California Gold Nutrition Citrulade contains three beneficial amino acids: L-arginine, L-citrulline and L-carnitine. L-arginine is known to increase blood flow and reduce inflammation. L-citrulline is also touted for its ability to improve blood flow and can increase protein levels in the muscles. Finally, l-carnitine can help with weight loss and endurance.
Although the body can produce these amino acids, supplementation with Citrulade could be beneficial for fitness-minded individuals.
Banana and Berry Smoothie
Complement the strawberry-pineapple flavor of Citrulade with this chilled smoothie that serves one.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup ice
- 1 cup coconut water
- 1/2 frozen banana
- 1/2 cup frozen strawberries
- 2 pitted prunes
- 1 Tbs. California Gold Nutrition MCT Oil
- 1 scoop California Gold Nutrition Citrulade
Instructions:
- Puree the first five ingredients in a blender.
- Slowly add MCT Oil while blending.
- Transfer contents into a glass.
- With a spoon, stir in the Citrulade. Do not use the blender for this step.
Sweet Potato and Pineapple Creamsicle Smoothie
This smoothie benefits from the complex carbohydrates that are found in sweet potatoes. The recipe makes one smoothie.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup ice
- 1 cup coconut water
- Small sweet potato, cooked and diced
- 5 ounces canned pineapple
- 1 Tbs. flaxseed
- 1/2 tsp. camu camu powder
- 1 scoop California Gold Nutrition Very Vanilla Vegan Protein
- 1 Tbs. California Gold Nutrition MCT Oil
- 1 scoop California Gold Nutrition Citrulade
Instructions:
- Combine the first seven ingredients in a blender.
- Continue to blend while slowly adding MCT oil.
- Pour the smoothie into a glass.
- Stir the Citrulade into the smoothie by hand. Do not use the blender.
